The naked mile
story is true. It is a notorious event where students run naked through
streets once a year at the Michigan University winter semester in April.
Due to security reasons the event has been canceled several times and
sometimes police arrest them as well due to security violence.
Now a days due
to security Reasons University and police started arresting students so the
event has been canceled several times. So there has
been discontinuation in the event for several years. In 2002,
participants wore an underwear and run through colleges. In 2003, there were
only few contestants believed to be five to seven and they were arrested for
the naked mile. In the 2004, the event was held earlier with an alternative
route where thirteen runners and one naked bicyclist managed to avoid arrest.
In 2005 they painted their body to hide explicit nudity. Later years due to
security reasons the event was discontinued and on 2007 very few students
continued with the Naked Mile.
Several movies
have also been made in this story. Now day’s different programs are arranged on
different places to celebrate Naked Mile in different ways.
